Our Background

Advocacy for Resilience and Innovative Solutions for Youths, Women, and Children Empowerment (ARISE) is a women-led humanitarian and development non-profit, non-governmental organization, formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on October 1st, 2024. ARISE is dedicated to transforming the prolonged impacts of insurgency, natural disasters, and economic adversity into opportunities for recovery, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Our organization is dedicated to contributing to efforts that address pressing needs within vulnerable communities. We work bot independently and in collaboration with partners to support initiatives in education, food security and livelihoods, protection, climate action, good governance, and nutrition. By focusing on these areas, we aim to empower marginalized populations, particularly youth, women, and children, and create pathways to resilience and sustainable development.

Areas of Operation: ARISE currently operates across the BAY states, with targeted activities in:

Borno State: Konduga (Auno), Magumeri, Jere, Bama LGAs, and Maiduguri Metropolitan Council
Yobe State: Damaturu

In addition, ARISE is actively exploring opportunities to extend its programs to the North-Central region of Nigeria, particularly Plateau and Benue states, where communities continue to face significant challenges due to prolonged inter-communal conflicts and terrorism.

OBJECTIVES

Gender-Based Violence (GBV): our work focuse on prevention and response to gender-based violence through community awareness, survivor-centered support services, capacity building, and advocacy for the protection, safety, and dignity of women, girls, and vulnerable populations.
Protection of Children and Prevention of Early Marriage: To advocate against early and forced child marriage while promoting child protection through community sensitization, engagement with parents and community leaders, and programs that safeguard the rights and well-being of children.
Education and Girl-Child Participation: To promote inclusive and quality education by strengthening school retention, increasing girls’ enrollment and participation in education, and supporting safe and supportive learning environments for children in vulnerable communities.
Child Education and Psychosocial Support: To promote child education, literacy initiatives, and practical skills development while mainstreaming child protection and psychosocial support (PSS) in conflict, disaster, and marginalized affected communities.
Youth and Women Empowerment: Our projects focus on empowering youth and women by enhancing their skills, access to resources, and economic opportunities across various sectors. We promote innovative and sustainable solutions, including climate resilience, to improve livelihoods, boost productivity, and foster long-term community development.
Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion: To foster peacebuilding and social cohesion through cultural exchanges, sports, and collective initiatives that unite communities around shared goals.
Human Rights and Gender Equality Advocacy: To advocate for peaceful coexistence, human rights, equity, and gender equality among citizens in conflict, disaster, and marginalized affected communities.
Community Development and Good Governance: To facilitate and coordinate sustainable community development programs and promote good governance at the local level through improved civic awareness among target groups.
Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience: To advocate for and implement climate change adaptation strategies that build resilient communities capable of withstanding environmental challenges.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): To promote clean water access, sanitation, and hygiene practices to reduce disease spread and improve community health.
